We encourage you to submit your requests for incident reports online through our Police Report Request form. This should only be used to request a copy of an existing police report concerning a past incident. To file a new report, or to request police assistance in Lunenburg, please call 978-582-4531, or in an emergency dial 911. Report requests can also be printed and mailed or brought to the police department at 655 Massachusetts Avenue.
Massachusetts public records law, g.l. C.66 and c.4, §7 (26) provide that a municipality must within 10 business days (Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays) after receipt of the request, respond to a request for records by providing access to or a copy of such records, or explaining any delay or denial. Responses may indicate further time is necessary, additional information is required, or an estimate of fees required to fulfill the request, as examples. Pursuant to public records law all exemptions will be redacted from any and all material being released.
