Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 3-1(F), Section 3-10, and General Provisions, Article 7, Section 7-10 of the Charter, of the following vacancy:

Member of the Planning Board (1 Vacancy)
The term of the appointment is immediate and until the next Annual Town Election in May 2023. The powers and duties of the Planning Board, as listed in the Charter, are that the Planning Board shall make careful studies of the resources, possibilities and needs of the town and shall make plans for the development of the town. The Board shall make a comprehensive or master plan, setting forth in graphic and textual form policies to govern the future growth and development of the entire town. The Board shall have the power to regulate the subdivision of land within the town by the adoption of rules and regulations governing such development and the administration of such rules and regulations.
The Planning Board shall make recommendations to the Town Meeting on all matters affecting land use and development, including the zoning by-laws of the town.
The Planning Board shall make an annual report, giving information regarding the condition of the town and plans and proposals for its development and estimates of their costs. The Planning Board shall have all the powers and duties planning boards are given by General Law, by Charter, bylaw or by other vote of the town meeting.
The applicant is expected to attend all Planning Board meetings. Planning Board members serve as representatives of the Board on other Town Committees as mandated by Town bylaw, Town Meeting or appointment by Select Board. Planning Board members serves as representatives of Montachusett Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) and Montachusett Joint Transportation Committee (MJTC).
Applications will be accepted from interested parties until the position is filled by joint vote of the Select Board and remaining Planning Board members.
