NOTICE OF VACANCY
Notice is hereby given pursuant to General Provisions, Article 7, section 7-10 of the Charter, and any other relevant provisions of the Charter, of the following vacancy:
BOARD OF ASSESSORS (2 VACANCIES) DUE TO FAILURE TO ELECT
Composition, Terms of Office:
There shall be a Board of Assessors that shall consist of 3 members elected for terms of 3 years each so arranged that the term of office of 1 member shall expire each year.

The term of appointment is immediate and until the next Annual Town Election in May 2022.
The duties of the Board of Assessors are defined in Article 3, § 3-4 of the Town Charter and include:

Powers and Duties:
The Board of Assessors shall annually make a fair cash valuation of all the estate, real and personal, subject to taxation within the Town of Lunenburg. It shall annually determine the rate of taxation to apply against property in the Town based on such valuations and such sums as may be authorized to be expended by Town Meeting and consideration of other income and expenses of the Town.

The vacancies will be filled by a joint vote of the Select Board and Board of Assessors. Interested parties should submit a letter of interest or talent bank form to:

ACCORDING TO SECTION 7-10 OF THE CHARTER - NOTICE OF VACANCIES, THIS NOTICE SHALL BE POSTED FOR NOT LESS THAN TEN DAYS AND NO APPOINTMENT SHALL BE MADE SOONER THAN 14 DAYS FOLLOWING THE DATE SUCH NOTICE IS POSTED.
