Public Safety Desk Clerk

The Town of Lunenburg seeks qualified applicants for a Public Safety Desk Clerk.

Under general supervision of the Police Chief, the Desk Officer will provide communication and support services to the police and fire departments. Works within major areas of the Police Department including the lock-up, Communication Center/front lobby reception area; maintains lock-up security; operates a variety of equipment, including Police/Fire radios, and computers; receives and relays business calls, information, and messages as well as performs clerical work related to police operations. Performs all other related work as required.

High School Diploma or equivalent. 2 years’ experience in clerical and administrative procedures; Prior Reserve Officer and/or dispatching experience preferred; or any combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements:
• Suicide Prevention certified and possesses all of the training required by Section 72.1.1 of the Lunenburg Police Holding Facility Policy 3.02.
• Must possess and maintain a valid CPR and First Aid certificate
• Must be DCJIS certified.

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, benefited position. AFSCME Grade 7, Pay Range: $23.29/hr.-$29.19/hr. Please send resume and employment application, available on the Town website, to the Chief of Police.
