Recycling Enforcement Supervisor

The Town of Lunenburg is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of Recycling Enforcement Supervisor. This position will be the lead person in the four-member team of Recycling IQ Inspectors working on the Recycling IQ Program, a grant funded program of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection that aims to improve the quality of local recycling programs through a two-pronged approach; education and feedback at the curbside. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with the Project Coordinator on the startup and implementation of the program, supervising the day to day activities of the team, checking recycling carts during recycling weeks, tagging and recording recycling that do not contain proper recycling contents, input of Recycling IQ data, creating and producing additional recycling education materials. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the environment and a desire to make a difference; strong interpersonal skills; ability to supervise and lead a team; proven ability to work with people with a variety of ethnic, socio-economic, educational, religious, sexual and generational backgrounds; ability to deal with residents, and haulers in stressful situations; ability to follow oral and written instructions and to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and a working vehicle. This is a temporary, non-union, non-benefited position, from September 9 to November 8, mornings, up to 4 days/week; $22.00/hr plus mileage.
