Staff Librarian

The Town of Lunenburg seeks qualified applicants for the position of Staff Librarian. This position provides assistance to the Library Director with the development and implementation of library programs and services for adults at the Town of Lunenburg Library. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collection development and management, providing reference and reader’s advisory services, planning adult programs, the circulation desk schedule, staff scheduling, payroll, supervision of staff and volunteers, ordering supplies, and day to day cash management. Assists with organization and implementation of book sales. Attends meetings as needed. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of library services, systems, and programs. Excellent PC skills, excellent customer service skills. Master’s degree in Library Science preferred, Bachelor’s degree required; minimum of five year’s professional library experience; supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with library systems (Evergreen) preferred. Knowledge of basic office software. Ability to multi task and work independently. This is a Grade 6, AFSCME union position, $20.30 - $25.47/hr, dependent upon experience; 36 hr work-week; excellent benefits.
