Masks will no longer be required in Town buildings. Hand sanitizer is placed throughout the building and should be used upon entry.
A Drop Box has been installed at the Lancaster Ave. entrance of the Ritter Building. Please drop any materials for the Building Dept. in this box. Please notify the Building Department office if you do so. This box is checked periodically during business hours.
INSPECTION POLICY: To have a project inspected, please contact the Building Department. Requests for same-day inspections must be made by NOON and will be considered on a case by case basis dependent on the volume of inspections and the nature of what is requested. All other inspection requests must be made one hour before to the close of business (3 PM Monday & Wednesday and 5 PM Tuesday & Thursday) and will be scheduled the following day. Generally, inspections are conducted in the afternoon an are done at the discretion of the Building Commissioner. If you require an earlier inspection or have other inspection specific requests or needs please indicate these in your initial request.
Electrical, Gas, and Plumbing applications are being processed at the Building Department Office, Ritter Memorial Building, 960 Massachusetts Avenue, Lunenburg. All inspections must be scheduled directly with Electrical Inspector John Biery (978) 505-2461 and Gas and Plumbing Inspector Gary Williams (978) 265-6540.
