"The Mission of the Lunenburg Council on Aging is to advocate for improved quality of life for all seniors through supportive services, programs, and education".

Hours of operation:

Monday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tuesday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wednesday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  
Thursday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m

*Closed on all major holidays

*Inclement Weather Procedure:
If the Lunenburg schools are closed due to weather, all programs at the Eagle House Senior Community Center will be canceled including transportation and meals on wheels.
Information on school closings can be found on your local Boston TV morning news stations.

 

*BEGINNING ON MONDAY MARCH 15, 2021,  WALK-IN HOURS AT THE EAGLE HOUSE SENIOR COMMUNITY CENTER WILL BE 10 AM - 2PM
If you've received the COVID-19 vaccinations, masks must still be worn and all social distance protocols will be followed while inside of the building.  

*If you have been in contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID do not attend any indoor programs at the Eagle House Senior Community Center.  Please follow the guidelines for quarantine found at the CDC website:  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus

*COVID-19 VACCINE INFORMATION FOR LUNENBURG RESIDENTS AGE 65+

The Lunenburg Council on Aging will no longer be taking waiting list appointments for the Nashoba Associated Boards of Health COVID-19 vaccine.

For those of you who have received your 1st shot through Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, your 2nd shot appointment will still be honored.  A Council on Aging staff member will contact you via telephone to register you for your second shot, as soon as we hear from NABH.

Our staff will continue to field phone calls regarding the COVID-19 vaccine and assist those who have registration questions.

In the meantime, please continue to go to the vaxfinder.mass.gov or call the 2-1-1 phone line to try and schedule an appointment.

LUNENBURG PROPERTY TAX WORK-OFF PROGRAM
 

*APPLICATIONS FOR 2021 WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP IN DECEMBER 

The Town of Lunenburg will offer income-eligible Lunenburg senior citizens age 60+ an opportunity to receive up to a $1500 abatement off their property tax bill.  Participants work in various Town departments to earn the tax abatement.  For each hour worked, a person will receive $13.50 and can work between January 1, 2021 & November 1, 2021 to receive the $1500 abatement.

*Income eligibility

One person household—$50,000

Two person household—$75,000

*In order to be considered for this program, applicants must provide prior year 1040 tax return with submission of  their application.
To apply pick up an application at the Lunenburg Council on Aging office, Eagle House Senior Community Center or at the Lunenburg Accessors office in town hall.
