"The Mission of the Lunenburg Council on Aging is to advocate for improved quality of life for all seniors through supportive services, programs, and education".

Hours of operation:

Monday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tuesday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wednesday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  
Thursday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m

*Closed on all major holidays

*Inclement Weather Procedure:
If the Lunenburg schools are closed due to weather, all programs at the Eagle House Senior Community Center will be canceled including transportation and meals on wheels.
Information on school closings can be found on your local Boston TV morning news stations.

*As of May 29, 2021, the new face covering advisory will be in line with the updated CDC face covering guidance that non-vaccinated individuals are advised to continue wearing face masks and to continue distancing in most settings. The advisory will also recommend fully vaccinated individuals no longer need to wear a face covering or social distance indoors or outdoors except for in certain situations. Face coverings will still be required for all individuals on public and private transportation (including rideshares, livery, taxi, ferries, MBTA, Commuter Rail and transportation stations), healthcare facilities, indoors for staff and students of K-12 schools and early education providers and congregate care settings and health and rehabilitative day services.

LUNENBURG PROPERTY TAX WORK-OFF PROGRAM

*APPLICATIONS FOR 2021 ARE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP AT THE TOWN HALL AND AT THE EAGLE HOUSE SENIOR COMMUNITY CENTER

The Town of Lunenburg will offer income-eligible Lunenburg senior citizens age 60+ an opportunity to receive up to a $1500 abatement off their property tax bill.  Participants work in various Town departments to earn the tax abatement.  For each hour worked, a person will receive $13.50 and can work between January 1, 2021 & November 1, 2021 to receive the $1500 abatement.*Income eligibility

One person household—$50,000

Two person household—$75,000

*In order to be considered for this program, applicants must provide prior year 1040 tax return with submission of  their application.
To apply pick up an application at the Lunenburg Council on Aging office, Eagle House Senior Community Center or at the Lunenburg Accessors office in town hall.
