"The Mission of the Lunenburg Council on Aging is to advocate for improved quality of life for all seniors through supportive services, programs, and education".

Hours of operation:

Monday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tuesday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wednesday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  *Special Wednesday program hours 8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Thursday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m

 

*The COA meeting scheduled for Tuesday January 12, 2021 has been canceled.

*Closed on all major holidays

*Inclement Weather Procedure

If the Lunenburg schools are closed due to weather, all programs at the Eagle House Senior Community Center will be canceled including transportation and meals on wheels.
Information on school closings can be found on your local Boston TV morning news stations.

 

*CORONA VIRUS UPDATE*  

Due to the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases through out the state, we have decided to close the Eagle House Senior Community Center to all INDOOR programs beginning on Monday December 7th through mid-January.

This does not include the monthly Healing Conversations Grief Support Group. You can also still visit our library/puzzle swap by making an appointment.

Drive Through events, van service and SHINE appointments will continue as scheduled.

We will be adding more "Drive Through" events and zoom programming to the schedule in January.

Stay home and stay healthy, we want to see you back again!

 

ANYONE ENTERING THE BUILDING MUST COMPLY WITH ALL COVID-19 SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOLS.
TEMPERATURES WILL BE TAKEN AND MASKS MUST BE WORN.

*If you have been in contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID do not attend any indoor programs at the Eagle House Senior Community Center.  Please follow the guidelines for quarantine found at the CDC website:  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus
 

*PROGRAM RESERVATIONS FOR WEEKLY EVENTS ARE TAKEN ON MONDAYS.  CALL 978-582-4166 TO MAKE YOURS.

Appointments with the Outreach Coordinator, Pauline Roy, can be made by calling 978-582-4166.
All visitors attending appointments will be required to follow all social distancing rules before entering the building.  Temperature will be taken and masks should be worn.  All visitors will be required to leave the building promptly after appointment has ended.

 

Call 978-582-4166 if you need meals on wheels, medical transportation, or face masks and we will make sure you get what you need.

 Call 978-582-4166 to make your appointment for a FREE mask pick up.

We are recommending Heart to Home Meals for Seniors age 60+. They are based out of Marlborough MA and will deliver frozen meals to your home. The menu is large and pricing is reasonable. Check them out at hearttohomemeals.com or call 1-508-658-3000. They deliver in Lunenburg on Fridays.
They are practicing all of the recommended Coronavirus safety procedures and will only take payment by credit card.

*MEALS ON WHEELS

Beginning on Monday October 5, 2020 we will be going back to the original Meals on Wheels delivery days of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday.
During COVID-19, if you do not have a cooler, meals will be in large plastic bags or placed outside of the clients door.

 

We cannot stress enough how important it is to limit your social contact with people at this time.

The safety and well-being of our seniors and our staff is our highest priority.

LUNENBURG PROPERTY TAX WORK-OFF PROGRAM
 

*APPLICATIONS FOR 2021 WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP IN DECEMBER 

The Town of Lunenburg will offer income-eligible Lunenburg senior citizens age 60+ an opportunity to receive up to a $1500 abatement off their property tax bill.  Participants work in various Town departments to earn the tax abatement.  For each hour worked, a person will receive $13.50 and can work between January 1, 2021 & November 1, 2021 to receive the $1500 abatement.

*Income eligibility

One person household—$50,000

Two person household—$75,000

*In order to be considered for this program, applicants must provide prior year 1040 tax return with submission of  their application.
To apply pick up an application at the Lunenburg Council on Aging office, Eagle House Senior Community Center or at the Lunenburg Accessors office in town hall.
