The mission of the Department of Public Works is to protect, preserve and improve the Town's infrastructure and related assets in a manner which meets and enhances the current and future social and economic needs of the community, to contribute to a healthy, safe and quality environment for the town's citizens and visitors, and to provide a cost effective and environmentally sound means of disposing of solid waste and waste water.

Sand/Salt Pile for Residents Discontinued
The sand and salt mix is no longer available at the DPW facility on Chase Road.
Sand for Seniors: If you are frail and over 60 years of age, or under 60 and are disabled, you are eligible for this program. Please contact the Senior Center at 978-582-4166 to schedule delivery of a bucket of sand to your residence by the Fire Department.
Please note, this program is not intended to be a substitute for the sand suspension at the DPW. Condominium complexes and mobile home parks are not eligible for this program. Please do not call the DPW or the Fire Department about this program, all questions should be directed to the Senior Center.
